The Wyatville family are noted for their profession as architects. Brothers, Sir Jeffry and Sir John Wyatville, were trained by their uncles, Samuel Wyatt and James Wyatt, to become prominent figures in this profession during the 18th and 19th centuries. It was Sir Jeffry Wyatville who resided in this house at 39 Brook Street which is located very close to the popular shopping areas of South Molton Street and Bond Street. Sir Jeffry was also known for his skill at garden design.
